Privacy

Short version: no accounts, no forms, nothing sold. We count visits to learn which treks people read.

What we measure

Trekpeek uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views, how far people scroll, which links they follow out to operators, and roughly where visits come from (country, device, browser). We use this only to decide which treks to improve and add.

We don't ask for your name, email or any account, and the site has no forms. Google Analytics doesn't receive anything you type, because there's nothing to type.

Cookies

Outside the EU, UK and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga) to tell a returning visitor from a new one. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off: Google receives only cookieless signals, so no identifier is stored on your device. No advertising cookies are used anywhere.

Opting out

Block analytics with any content blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same either way.

Third parties

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, 3D code from jsDelivr, and are hosted on Vercel; each sees your IP address when your browser fetches from it. Links to operators, Wikipedia and other sources take you to their sites and their privacy policies. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles Analytics data.
